Owner, Executive Planner, Sourdough Enthusiast

Hi, I’m Sonya, the founder of Bread and Blossom Events, LLC and Bread and Blossom, LLC, an event planning and sourdough business I started in 2020.

My love affair with weddings and events started early—like, age 13 early, when I planned my own bat mitzvah and realized I might be a little obsessed with hospitality and weddings. I started planning my own wedding at 14 years old. Fast forward 15+ years, and that spark has turned into a full-blown career where I’ve worn just about every hat in the industry.

I spent six years with the luxury hotel brand Four Seasons, working across management, fine dining service, banquets, and bar. During college I had a Catering Sales Internship overseeing all weddings—at the Inverness Hotel. Along the way, I interned with Winston Flowers and Corinthian Events.

I’ve also spent a lot of time in the kitchen! I have my own sourdough bread business that I am still operating! I was also the Head Chef of Prepared Foods at Hank’s and a Bartender at Wayside Tavern—plus more catering gigs than I can count. If it exists in the wedding world, chances are I’ve done it.

I also hold a Business and Hospitality degree from the University of Denver, with a specialty in Food & Beverage and Events Management, and was honored with the 2017 Entrepreneurship Award for a farm-to-table restaurant business plan (still a dream, still delicious).

All of this experience means I don’t just plan events—I get them. From the big picture to the tiniest detail, I know what it takes to create celebrations that feel seamless, meaningful, and completely unforgettable.

What sets me aside from other planners is that I am passionate about all sides of hospitality. When I’m not in planning mode you can find me in the kitchen cooking up a storm for my next themed dinner party! Bread and Blossom is not just an event company I also operate a sourdough, sauces, and seeds business on the side! Find me at a Maine farmers market when I don’t have a wedding!
