Owner, Executive Planner, Sourdough Enthusiast

Hi, I’m Sonya, the founder of Bread and Blossom Events, LLC and Bread and Blossom, LLC, an event planning and sourdough business I started in 2020.

My love affair with weddings and events started earlyβ€”like, age 13 early, when I planned my own bat mitzvah and realized I might be a little obsessed with hospitality and weddings. I started planning my own wedding at 14 years old. Fast forward 15+ years, and that spark has turned into a full-blown career where I’ve worn just about every hat in the industry.

I spent six years with the luxury hotel brand Four Seasons, working across management, fine dining service, banquets, and bar. During college I had a Catering Sales Internship overseeing all weddingsβ€”at the Inverness Hotel. Along the way, I interned with Winston Flowers and Corinthian Events.

I’ve also spent a lot of time in the kitchen! I have my own sourdough bread business that I am still operating! I was also the Head Chef of Prepared Foods at Hank’s and a Bartender at Wayside Tavernβ€”plus more catering gigs than I can count. If it exists in the wedding world, chances are I’ve done it.

I also hold a Business and Hospitality degree from the University of Denver, with a specialty in Food & Beverage and Events Management, and was honored with the 2017 Entrepreneurship Award for a farm-to-table restaurant business plan (still a dream, still delicious).

All of this experience means I don’t just plan eventsβ€”I get them. From the big picture to the tiniest detail, I know what it takes to create celebrations that feel seamless, meaningful, and completely unforgettable.

What sets me aside from other planners is that I am passionate about all sides of hospitality. When I’m not in planning mode you can find me in the kitchen cooking up a storm for my next themed dinner party! Bread and Blossom is not just an event company I also operate a sourdough, sauces, and seeds business on the side! Find me at a Maine farmers market when I don’t have a wedding!

  • Hi there, I'm Sara! I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Sonya through the 2025 wedding season and cannot wait to see the beautiful events 2026 has in store! With a passion for performance and a fervor for helping people, I combine these two gifts to create an environment which produces creativity, inspiration, and joy. I believe these three elements together have the power to create tangible magic, and that's exactly what I want you and your guests to feel on your wedding day!

My path to weddings has been winding, with a variety of stops along the way. I majored in Theater and Dance in college, so I know how to put on a good show and bring positive energy to the dance floor. While at school I worked with the events crew at our student center, working with set up, sound and lighting. I then took my theater and dance career south to Florida and worked for over five years at Walt Disney World, where I saw events from all sides: as a guide, as a guest, and as a performer in the middle of it all. Witnessing the incredible details that go into these world class, fully immersive events has set me up with an eye for detail, a knack for finding efficiency improvements, and a high standard of execution. Upon returning to Maine, I have become an Administrative Secretary for my "day job", so you know I have those details, schedules, and priority lists constantly running. Outside of the 9-5, I am the Performance Director for the immersive arts group, Portals of Portl&, and have also started hosting karaoke one night a week at my favorite karaoke spot in town! Karaoke hosting is all about curating a vibe for the people in your space, and setting a tone everyone feels comfortable and supported in so they can open up, let loose, and shine- another lovely parallel for what I want at your wedding!

Working with me should feel like a warm hug. I want you to feel like you have the support you need, you can relax into the moment, and feel the genuine joy I have for the privilege of being a witness to your love- with lots of fun along the way!
